Abstract
The term "trauma" in psychology is generally defined as an emotional response to horrific events. There are increasing differences among researchers in defining this concept. The aim of this study is to draw a conceptual model of trauma based on the verses of the Quran. For this purpose, first, by forming the semantic domain of trauma, a semantic analysis of the words »mosibat, bala, zigh, haraj, fetneh, sharr, ousr, zorrr, rejz, taklif and kabad« was conducted. The Quranic word "mosibat" was identified as the closest word to the concept of trauma. In the next stage, by collecting verses related to trauma, 237 suitable propositions were identified; then, using the content analysis method, 5 comprehensive themes were identified: general principles, philosophy, proportional pressure, landing zone and consequence. Also, CVI was obtained for the conceptual model of trauma and its validity was confirmed. Based on the findings of this study, trauma was defined as: external pressure imposed on an individual by God's permission and for the purpose of testing, punishment, or growth, proportionate to the individual's actions, capacity, and circumstances, which is perceived due to a sudden lack of satisfaction in one or more areas of material, psychological, or spiritual needs.
