Abstract

Objective: The present study was conducted to determine the relationship between parental parenting styles and responsibility with the mediating role of religious beliefs.

Method: The research method was descriptive-correlational and structural equation modeling. The target population of this study included all parents of female students in the second high school of District 1 of Qom city, numbering 6843 people, in the academic year 1403-1404, which was used cluster sampling method. The sample size was 364 of their parents, according to the student statistics based on the Krejci and Morgan formula. The research tools were standard questionnaires of Diana Baumrind's parenting styles (1973), California Responsibility (1987), and spiritual and religious beliefs of the National Institutes of Health of the United States of America (1999). The data obtained were analyzed at the descriptive level by calculating the mean and standard deviation, and at the inferential level by using Pearson correlation and structural equation modeling, using SPSS version 26 and AMOS version 24 software.

Findings: The research findings showed that the model of the relationship between parenting styles and responsibility with the mediating role of religious beliefs in parents has a good fit.
