Explaining the Status of Secure Attachment in Children with an Emphasis on the Role of Parent-Child Relationship Based on Emotions in it

Abstract

One of the most important and crucial periods in the life span of a human being is childhood. Providing the biological and emotional needs of the child and realizing a secure attachment in them are among the necessities of this period. The aim of the present research is to explain the process of forming secure attachment in children and the role of parent-child relationship based on positive emotions in the normal formation of this process. The basic question is as follows: “What factors play a fundamental role in the formation of secure attachment in children and what is the process of forming secure attachment like?” In the present research, a descriptive-analytical and reasoning method has been used, and an attempt has been made to explain the process of forming secure attachment in children and the role of important elements in it.
By studying Islamic teachings, psychology, and empirical studies, it can be claimed that firstly, the formation of secure attachment in children is one of the necessities of normal development, and secondly, a normal parent-child relationship based on positive emotions and meeting the biological and psychological needs of children in an appropriate manner and at the right time is one of the most important elements in the formation of secure attachment in children. Realization of secure attachment in children is among the most important immunizing factors in children.
