The present study aimed to analyze the path of moral development of adolescent girls based on the family's emotional climate and sources of moral authority, with the mediating role of self-confidence.The statistical population of the study consisted of all adolescent girls in Ilam city in 1403.To determine the sample size, convenience sampling method was used and finally 251 people were selected as a sample. The data collection tools included standard questionnaires on the moral development of children, adolescents and youth (Lotafabadi), the emotional climate of the family (Noudargahfard),sources of moral authority (Scott), and students' self-esteem(Farzianpour et al.)SPSS version 26 software was used to analyze the data, and the mediating role of self-confidence was examined using the Pearson correlation coefficient test and the four-step Barron and Kenny method. The results showed that the family's emotional climate and sources of moral authority have a direct positive and significant relationship with the moral development of adolescent girls. Also, self-confidence as a mediating variable strengthens the relationship between family emotional climate and moral development, but its mediating role in the relationship between sources of moral authority and moral development was not confirmed. These findings emphasize the importance of creating a positive emotional atmosphere in the family and strengthening self-confidence to promote the moral development of adolescent girls and can be used in designing effective educational and counseling programs.
