Abstract

The present study aimed to predict a positive image of God based on family emotional climate and perceived maternal parenting among students. This study was fundamental in nature, and its research method was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population included all male and female students of the University of Quran and Hadith in the first semester of the 2024–2025 academic year. A sample of 210 participants was selected through convenience sampling, and data were collected using the Hill Burn Family Emotional Climate Questionnaire (1964), the Parental Perception Questionnaire by Grolnick et al. (1997), and the Image of God Questionnaire by Greenway et al. (2003). For data analysis, structural equation modeling using the partial least squares approach was employed in the inferential statistics section. The results showed a positive and significant path coefficient between perceived parenting style (0.333) and image of God, as well as between family emotional climate (0.366) and a positive image of God (p < 0.01). Based on the findings, the importance of the mother’s role, maternal function, and her manner of interaction with the child, as well as the position and foundation of the family in shaping a positive image of God, is emphasized.
