Abstract

Family emotional security refers to a situation in which a person is confident that his emotional needs will be met within the family environment. The present research was conducted with the aim of explaining the components of family emotional security in the Holy Quran. The research method is qualitative content analysis; a method in which textual data are summarized and presented through analysis and systematic classification of coding processes and designing of recognized models. The results showed that the components of family emotional security from the Quranic perspective are divided into two domains: facilitating components and manifesting components. The 'facilitating factors are: Difference in roles and responsibilities of men and women; Physical and psychological competencies; Regulation of power within the family (men's guardianship/Qwamiyat); Preserving family boundaries; Compatibility in faith. The second domain, the 'manifesting factors of family emotional security,' includes: Cognitive supporting (avoiding accusation and suspicion or having positive assumptions, intellectual and cognitive growth appropriate to family relationships); Emotional supporting (performing righteous deeds,  showing affection, providing peace, fulfilling sexual satisfaction); Behavioral supporting (restricting sexual relations to within the family(legal wife), forgiveness and tolerance, conflict resolution, and managing spousal discord and dispute).
