Research Objective: This research aims to establish a systematic and transparent theoretical framework for introducing the nature of Islamic psychological knowledge by integrating a systematic understanding of religious texts with empirical research methods. It also seeks to differentiate this field of knowledge from other disciplines.
Research Methodology: This article is a methodological study. It employs an analysis of the methodologies of empirical science and the interpretation of religious texts, relying on the epistemological validity of each, to propose a method for integrating them into a narrative-rational-empirical framework that is epistemologically sound and has practical value in the field of psychology.
Research Findings: This study demonstrates that the development of an "Islamic psychology" is feasible. Secondly, Islamic psychology is not Islam itself, but rather a type of psychology based on Islamic principles. Thirdly, it is possible to integrate the three epistemological methods of narrative, rational, and empirical to produce religious science, particularly Islamic psychology, in a way that is epistemologically sound and has practical value. Finally, the distinction between "Islamic knowledge" and "empirical Islamic psychology" has been clarified, with the former being non-empirical and the latter being empirical, both with distinct applications.
