Emotional divorce, as an unofficial form of marital dissolution, demands a more rigorous Emotional divorce as an informal form of marital dissolution requires further analytical and conceptual examination. This study was conducted to identify the components of emotional divorce based on Islamic sources. The research employed qualitative content analysis combined with a descriptive-survey approach. Initially, relevant concepts of emotional divorce were extracted from the Quran and hadiths through open, axial, and selective coding procedures. Subsequently, the validity of components was verified by nine experts in psychology and Islamic studies using Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Content Validity Index (CVI). Data analysis revealed six core components in the structure of emotional divorce: (1) Emotional Instability (diminished affection and empathy), (2) Marital Discord (destructive behaviors such as humiliation), (3) Emotional Withdrawal (neglect of spousal needs), (4) Commitment Failure (violation of marital rights), (5) Non-Compliance (dereliction of spousal duties), and (6) Sexual Dysfunction (impairment in sexual relations). The findings demonstrate that emotional divorce constitutes a multi-layered phenomenon emerging from the interplay of emotional and behavioral factors. With content validity indices exceeding 0.75, the identified components possess strong validity and can inform future research, counseling interventions, and prevention of family dysfunction
