The purpose of the present study was to identify the components of spouses' sexual self-expression based on Islamic sources. This qualitative research utilized thematic analysis, following the comprehensive six-stage process proposed by Braun and Clarke, which includes: 1. Familiarization with the data; 2. Generating and coding initial codes; 3. Searching for and identifying themes; 4. Constructing a thematic network; 5. Analyzing the thematic network; 6. Compiling the report. To this end, concepts related to the semantic domain of sexual self-expression were purposefully searched and selected from Islamic texts. After reviewing over 2,000 verses, 52 initial sub-themes were identified, which were subsequently reduced to 35 secondary sub-themes and ultimately to five main themes. The findings revealed that the conceptual structure of sexual self-expression in Islamic texts comprises five main components: preparation, adornment, display, readiness, and presentation. The overall results indicate that sexual self-expression of spouses in Islam emphasizes the interactive and aesthetic aspects of couples' behavior. These findings can provide a foundation for developing strategies to strengthen marital relationships based on Islamic teachings.
