Wilayah is a central concept in Islamic thought that, in exegetical texts—particularly in Al-Mizan—is presented as a fundamental mechanism for organizing the inner life of the human being and orienting religious experience. Despite the rich potential of these sources, the psychological dimensions of wilayah have rarely been extracted and conceptualized in a data-driven manner within an intrareligious framework. The present study aimed to identify the psychological components of wilayah-centeredness in the exegetical reading of Al-Mizan using a conventional qualitative content analysis approach. The data consisted of meaningful exegetical statements concerning the inner, identity-related, emotional, and behavioral states of human beings in relation to Divine Wilayah, systematically extracted from Al-Mizan. In the analytical process, more than 1,100 initial meaning units were identified and, through open coding, clustering, and categorization, led to the extraction of ten stable components. The findings demonstrated that wilayah-centeredness is associated with internal coherence, centralized psychological authority, stabilization of faith identity, psychological security and reassurance, emotional regulation, growth in meaning, spiritual resilience under pressure, and extension into collective action. The content validity of the components was confirmed with the participation of 12 experts using the CVR and CVI indices. This study provides a foundation for developing theories and instruments in the psychology of religion grounded in Islamic exegetical sources.
