This study examines the religious affect component as one dimension of religiosity and its development along the path of faith in God among Iranian Muslim youth, with a focus on Dezful, based on Nodari (1989). The sample consisted of 118 Dezful youth with positive attitudes toward religiosity, and data were collected through semi-structured interviews. Three rounds of judgment were conducted, and scores from 1 to 4 were used. The results indicate that the development of religious affect in the 18–24 age range is not consistently linear and upward and is accompanied by fluctuations; nonetheless, relative to this age span, the religious affect component shows relatively high stability, and individuals move toward stability. Findings also reveal deep and broad emotional experiences among the youth, with a heartfelt connection to God and the emergence of religious emotions observable in them. The role of cultural centers such as religious congregations in enhancing the quality of this component is emphasized. Moreover, religious affect grows more than other dimensions of religiosity, while cognitive and volitional dimensions typically remain at lower levels; thus, simultaneous attention to cognitive dimensions appears necessary.
