Abstract
The present study was conducted with the aim of comparative study of the origin and origin (motivation) of clothing from the perspective of Islam and psychology. The method of this research was qualitative analytical-descriptive. By referring to the Latin writings of psychologists from the beginning of the nineteenth century, these factors were extracted and in the field of religion, by referring to verses and hadiths in the field of "covering" and thinking of religious and non-religious thinkers, its origin was examined from the perspective of Islam. The study and analysis of religious and psychological texts, resulting in determining the factor of "modesty" as the most basic source and motivation of cover from the perspective of religion, and the discovery of six factors of "modesty", "protection", "beauty", "symbolism", "self-expansion" And "environment - psychological characteristics" in this field from a psychological perspective. In the end, the concept of "modesty" in Islam was explained and the nature of this factor was cited - not acquired - and arguments to the contrary were answered.
