Abstract

The present study was developed with the aim of designing, building and validating  survey marital contract breaking scale based on Islamic thought. The research method is a sequential exploratory combination and includes two qualitative and quantitative parts. In the qualitative section, using the qualitative content analysis method, data were extracted from Islamic texts and categories and factors were obtained, and in the quantitative section, the results obtained from the qualitative section were used to extract items and build a scale. The sample size in the quantitative section is 50 married users in social networks who were selected by available sampling method. Based on the results of data validation, content validity ratio (CVR) and content validity index (CVI) using the evaluation of 10 experts were reported in the range of 0.80 to 0.1, which shows the content validity of the scale. Also, the validity of the items was confirmed using the alpha coefficient of 0.81 and the method of halving the score of 0.61. Therefore, the initial scale was obtained with 56 items that can report the  grounds and individual and relational factors of marital contract breaking based on Islamic thought.
