Abstract

Religious coping is a very important structure that plays a role in physical and mental health. In this study, investigated the role of dark triad   of personality in explaining the dimensions (positive/negative) of religious coping mediated by God image. The participants in this study were 311 people (151 men, 160 women) who responded to the three scales by available sampling method: Dark Triad, Image of God and Short Scale of Religious Coping. In this study, used correlational  method, causal modeling, T test and multivariate regression analysis. The findings showed a correlation between research variables. All subscales of Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy were associated with negative religious coping and negative image of God. Accordingly, the mediating role of the image of God in the relationship between the dark trinity and negative religious coping was confirmed. The results of this study showed that all subscales of the dark triad variable have the power to predict negative coping and the idea of God played a mediating role for the relationship between these two variables.
