Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the needs of counseling with the opposite sex with an Islamic approach by descriptive-analytical method. Findings show that same-sex counseling is allowed under certain conditions. Examining the Islamic view in this regard, as opposed to the two views of strict and careless, has a "moderate approach" to counseling with the opposite sex. Also, the findings of the study in examining the requirements of counseling with the opposite sex indicate that such things as "piety", "choosing the right place", "adhering to a chaste look", "adhering to the appropriate cover", "avoiding makeup", "Commitment to chaste dialogue", "brevity and self-sufficiency as necessary", "control of empathetic relationships" are among the most important requirements for counseling with the opposite sex. Therefore, the Islamic approach to counseling results in a noticeable difference from the do's and don'ts of healthy counseling for the opposite sex.
