The purpose of this research was to develop a theoretical model of sex education based on Islamic thought and and measure its validity.Considering this purpose,this study was of both qualitative and quantitative methods.In the qualitative method,Collecting sources using the method of semantic fields by48related keywords,2873Quranic verses,hadiths and words of Muslim thinkers were selected after screening.In the text analysis,the grounded theory method was used.For this purpose,using targeted sampling based on the principle of saturation,766 codes in the open coding stage,78pivotal codes in the first stage,13pivotal codes in the second stage,4selected codes as the major categories and1central core category were identified; And the theoretical model of sex education was drawn based on Islamic thought.In the quantitative part,using the method of evaluating the opinions of experts,the content validity index of the model was measured from 11 experts by targeted sampling and snowball sampling.The findings of the research showed that the theoretical model of sex education based on Islamic thought has five bases(God-centeredness in thoughts,desires and sexual behavior,selectiveness with the possibility of unconscious influences,continuity,compliance with social norms and legality of sexual affairs),two strategies(Impulse control and foresight),there are four components(emotion-oriented sexual behavior,felicity-oriented pleasure,committed sexual behavior,compliance with sexual boundaries)and one consequence(sexual health is felicity-oriented).The results of this research have provided a suitable platform for developing a sex education program and designing educational packages for transformational periods.
