The present study aimed at identifying the strategies of self-control in children according to Islamic sources. To do so, the concepts close to self-control were examined through a descriptive-analytical method. The initial findings showed that the concepts of piety, abstinence, patience, intellect, and infallibility were much close to the concept of self-control. To validate the level of conformation of those concepts to the concept of self-control, the concepts were presented to 15 experts as psychologists and knowledgeable about Islamic concepts through a self-made questionnaire. All six concepts scored for conceptual validity. The indicators of these concepts were searched and collected in relation to how to strengthen self-control in children. The findings showed that Islam insisted on choosing a wise and good-tempered wife, avoiding eating illicit foods, observing the marital manners, mother’s eating dates in the pregnancy period, paying attention to mother’s nourishment, playing with the child from the birthday up to 6 years old, offering proper role models, increasing children’s knowledge and ability of cognition, teaching prayer and fasting to children, teaching special skills, paying attention to their sexual cares, and respecting them.
