The peace of mind and well-being have been the human being’s lost, and they are one of the most important grounds of perfection of the individual, family and society; returning to Islam and adhering to its revealed teachings are the way to achieve the peace of mind and well-being. The research method was a qualitative content analysis. To achieve the purpose of this study, the words ‘reassurance (iṭminan)’ and ‘composure (sakina)’ were looked up in the dictionaries and the verses containing these two words in the authentic interpretations of the Holy Quran by Shiite and Sunni scholars were studied and analyzed. The findings showed that (a) the word ‘composure’ was recognized as the best equivalent for peace of mind and the word ‘reassurance’, the most eloquent equivalent for mental well-being; (b). Just as, in psychology, mental well-being is the result of peace of mind and the necessity of the full flourishing of man; In the culture of the Qur’an, the remembrance of God is the prelude to reassurance, and reassurance is beyond composure, and it is the ground for the evolution and manifestation of all divine talents; (c) ‘reassurance’ in the culture of the Qur’an, although a general and sublime word, but it is the closest Qur’anic word to the psychological term ‘mental well-being’.
