The family is one of the most important institutions of society and forms the human personality. Optimal family functioning is a very influential factor in the flourishing, growth and development of family members. The purpose of this study was to predict family functioning based on couples' perception of God's presence in life through the mediation of individual resilience. The present study is a descriptive correlational study based on the steps proposed by Baron and Kenny (1986) and the regression method is used. For this purpose, 170 teachers from Birjand city were selected using stratified random sampling method. Data were collected using the God Imagination Questionnaire (Lawrence, 1997), the Resilience Scale (Connor and Davidson, 2003) and the McMaster Family Functioning Scale (1983). The results of statistical analysis showed that there is a significant positive relationship between perception of God's presence and resilience and a significant negative relationship with unhealthy family functioning. The results of regression analysis also showed that family functioning can be predicted by the perception of God's presence and explains 22.1% of family functioning. Also, the reflection of the relationship between the couple's perception of God and the functioning of the family is a partial mediation.
